Applications Developer .NET

The Applications Developer will be primarily responsible for software development on application platforms, and will participate in the future strategy towards integration of applications.
The Applications Developer has the task of developing applications &/or application enhancements, integrating software applications, conducting presentations and on-site visits in external organisations, performing data migrations whilst mitigating risk.
 
Key Accountabilities / Duties include:

  Conduct system implementations, testing, and training for new and existing applications
  Review code, conduct audit reviews of other code and consider associated security issues prior to implementation
  Analysis of business requirements, functional specifications and other documentation
  Creation, maintenance and resolution of issues / bugs and associated registers
  Assist in automating/ streamlining/ reviewing process and procedures as they relate to the integration of applications
  Participating in and management of software development and design
  Strategically recommending enhancements to systems to ensure that they are supported at all times
  Design and development for applications based on other external business sites
  Writing of detailed requirements documentations, customisation / migration / testing specifications,  charts, and diagrams that indicate the various components or modules relevant to system’s integration
  Designing solutions architecturally so that they are innovative, secure and flexible
  Writing of Implementation Plans and lodging change requests for project related changes
  Liaising with external vendors
  Database/System design on SQL
  Help Desk Support on .NET related issues
  Training and preparing training materials for staff
  Provide programming assistance for the IT Development Network
  Possible out of hours support to maintain, implement and test IT applications
  Dealing directly with third party suppliers and negotiating contracts and pricing on technology solutions and hardware
  Product testing of latest release software
  Ensuring that quality and project budget is maintained and delivered in all projects
  Issuing change management and other requests for approval within the business
  Attendance at functions / meetings / forums and involvement with relevant industry bodies as required when related to project managed implemented systems
 
Knowledge, Skills & Experience required:
  Degree qualified in Information Technology/ experience in a Developer’s role
  experience in .NET (VB And C#) development and in developing mobile solutions
   Have developed database solutions using SQL / Oracle Server
  experience in following project methodologies within a project environment
  Exposure to Windows Operating Systems
  VB.Net 2005 / 2008, VB.NET / C#
  .Net Compact Framework Development
  T-SQL
  Visual Source Safe
  SQL Server Reporting and Analysis Services
  SQL Server Integration Services
 
Candidates with experience in the following will be highly regarded:

  VB / VBA, Web development
  Technical writing experience within a project environment
  MS Access
  Enterprise Project Management
